Nurnberg to manage Sapphire Engineering
Scivex is pleased to announce that Steve Nurnberg
has joined its Sapphire Engineering Division as General Manager.
For nearly a century, Sapphire Engineering, Inc. has designed and
manufactured high-precision sapphire products, offering U.S. customers
a domestic alternative while supplying the world with top quality
products at competitive prices. Today, Sapphire's manufacturing expertise
incorporates other hard materials, such as zirconia ceramics, ruby
and stainless steel. Sapphire products include custom OEM pistons,
balls/seats, check valves, pump heads, flow-cell assemblies and precision
dispense pumps.
“Steve’s vast experience in the analytical instrument
industry is a perfect fit for Sapphire and its role in the Scivex
objective of providing total fluidic solutions,” said Alan Schell,
Scivex CEO.
Nurnberg’s 25 years of management include: Director of R&D
for Applied Biosystems, VP of Worldwide Operations and Product Development
at Millipore’s Bioresearch Division, Director of Product Development
for Waters Chromatography Division and General Manager of the Waters
Detector Business Unit. Prior to his ten years with Millipore/Waters
he spent 14 years with Corning managing electrical engineering, software,
electronics and process control development. Most recently he has
worked with Scivex on new product development through Protasis, a
Scivex supplier.
With the addition of Nurnberg, Sapphire Engineering President Keith
Besse will now focus on product conceptualization and design as well
as strategic relationship management.
Scivex was created in the year 2000 to provide total fluidic solutions
to analytical lab and diagnostic original equipment manufacturers
(OEMs). Scivex divisions include Upchurch Scientific, Sapphire Engineering
